JOHNNY DEAN JOHNSON

Johnny Dean Johnson, 50, was indicted on first-degree stalking charges and for being a persistent felony offender.

The charges follow Johnson’s arrest on Aug. 7 after a complaint by restaurant management alleged that a man in a black 2001 Pontiac parked at the restaurant had been harassing a female employee. A Bardstown Police Department press release stated police found Johnson in his car with binoculars at his feet, a baseball bat by the door, and a stick, knife and duct tape in the back seat.

The restaurant employee told police the man had repeated followed her when she left work, and she had to travel different routes in order to elude him. Johnson allegedly stayed in the restaurant for hours when the woman was working, and followed her outside on breaks.

Johnson has a criminal history that includes prior indictments on first-degree stalking charges and a 2002 conviction for sexual abuse. Johnson is on the lifetime sex offender registry.
