THOMAS GARY ‘CAMEL’ HAMILTON

Thomas Gary “Camel” Hamilton, 59, of Loretto, died Monday, August 25, 2014, at University Hospital. He was born Jan. 16, 1955, in Marion County. He was a former employee of Owens-Illinois Company in Bardstown and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Everett “Tommy” Hamilton (1972); and one daughter, Alison Louise Hamilton (2009).

Survivors include his mother, Joann Hayden Hamilton of Loretto; two sisters, Joanie Lancaster of Lebanon and Edith Gribbins of Hodgenville; four brothers, Jude Hamilton (Theresa) of Loretto, Jeff Hamilton and Billy Hamilton of Bardstown and Glen Hamilton (Mindy) of Calvary; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, St. Francis. The Most Rev. William Medley will be the celebrant. Military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Cremation will follow the services.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
