Obituary: Joseph Henry Goldring Jr., 68, Cox’s Creek

Joseph Henry Goldring Jr., 68, of Cox’s Creek, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at his home. He was a native of funeral_lilyFairfield, a retired employee of the State Department of Transportation for Bullitt County, a retired farmer for the Oscar Stump farm, and a member of the Fairfield Second Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late Joseph Henry and Ophelia Weaver Goldring Sr. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Alice Masden and Anna Louise Stone; and two brothers, John Goldring and Nelson Stallard.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary Michelle (Terry) Harrison of Bloomfield; three sisters, Lelia (George) Shively, Marita Perkins and Karen Blakley, all of Louisville; one brother, Kenny (Mary) Goldring of Louisville; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at the Fairfield Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Calvin Holloway officiating with burial in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at the Fairfield Second Baptist Church.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
