Obituary: Philip ‘Happy’ Harlow, 73, New Haven

PHILIP HARLOW

Philip “Happy” Harlow, 73, of New Haven, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born Nov. 15, 1940, in Glasgow. He was retired from LG&E and as a Nelson County School bus driver. He was a member and deacon of New Haven Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus and Beatrice Harlow.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Harlow of New Haven; one daughter, Melissa (Jerry) Huddleston of New Haven; two sons, Timothy (Monica) Harlow of Louisville and Rusty (Tina) Harlow both of New Haven; two sisters, Doris Vaughn of Louisville and Dolores Bryant of Shepherdsville; one brother, Doug Harlow of Pig; four grandchildren, Nicole Harlow, Angela Brown, Keshia Harlow, and Justin Harlow; and six great-grandchildren, Alexis, Savannah, Makenna, Zayda, Kaleb, and Atticus.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at New Haven Baptist Church with burial in the St. Thomas cemetery. Bro. Aaron Shipp will officiate.

Visitation is noon-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go toward the services of Philip Harlow.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
