Nelson Circuit Court indictments — April 20, 2011

The following people were indicted by a Nelson County grand jury on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. They are set for arraignment in Nelson Circuit Court on May 5, 2011 unless otherwise indicated.
11-CR-118. James M. Curtsinger, 25, Chaplin, attempting to bribe a public servant. According to the indictment, on April 10, 2011, Curtsinger allegedly attempted to bribe KSP Trooper Jonathan Downs by offering to pay him money in exchange for not arresting him. Bail was set at $5000 cash only plus conditions.
11-CR-119. William Jospeh Coulter, 33, Bardstown, first-degree trafficking in controlled substances; possession of handgun by convicted felon (2 counts); possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana; first-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, on April 5, 2011, Coulter allegedly possessed methamphetamine with the intent to sell or transfer it. He was also allegedly in possession of two handguns — a Llama .45 caliber semi-automatic and a Raven .25 semi-automatic. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only push conditions.
11-CR-120. Jonah D. Duke, 28, Bardstown, theft by unlawful taking. According to the indictment, Duke allegedly took an antique Ribon mixer, an antique concrete mixer and an antique twin-cylinder steam engine having a value of $500 or more but less than $10,000. Bail was set at $5000 cash only plus conditions.
11-CR-121. Bryan Anthony Branham, 28, Louisville, first-degree rape; first-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, on March 13, 2011, Branham allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse by the use of forcible compulsion. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only plus conditions.
11-CR-122. Harry Eugene Pedigo, 29, Bardstown, second-degree possession of a forged instrument (8 counts); second-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, between Jan. 13 and Jan. 19, 2011, Pedigo allegedly passed eight forged checks to Walmart, Thompson’s Food Mart, Kinsmen Marathon and an individual totaling $349.20. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.
11-CR-123. Christopher L. Newton, 50, Bardstown, cultivating marijuana, five or more plants; trafficking in marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.
11-CR-124. Gary L. Drees, Jr., 33, Brownsville, Ky., flagrant non-support. According to the indictment, between Aug. 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011, Drees allegedly failed to provide support he was ordered to pay, resulting in an arrearage of $4,771.94. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.
11-CR-125. Ashley Stamper, 18, Bloomfield, third-degree assault; third-degree terrorist threatening; first-degree disorderly conduct. According to the indictment, on Feb. 9, 2011, Stamper allegedly kicked, scratched and spat upon Officer Jason Woodson of the Bardstown Police Department. Stamper also allegedly threatened Woodson, becoming irate and started to curse and fight the officer. Bail was set at $2,500 cash only plus conditions.
