Obituary: Wilmer Leon Bobblett, 84, Bloomfield

WILMER LEON BOBBLETT

Wilmer Leon Bobblett, 84, of Bloomfield, died at 11:45 a.m., Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was a native of Washington County and was born Oct. 2, 1929 to the late Valis and Lizzie Milburn Bobblett. He was a member of the Willisburg Church of God Of Prophecy and a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Hill Bobblett, (July 16, 2009); one daughter-in-law, Beverly Bobblett (March 30, 2005); and one brother, Curtis Bobblett (Nov. 24, 2009).

Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Bobblett of Bloomfield and Charles Bobblett (Peggy) of Chaplin; one daughter, Veda Spalding (Herman) of Bardstown; two sisters, Essie Hood (William) of Springfield and Virgie Burkhead of Willisburg; one brother, Ralph Bobblett (Connie) of Willisburg; five grandchildren, Kevin Bobblett, Chris Bobblett, Josh Bobblett, Adrienne Berry and Amanda Bright; eight great-grandchildren, Logan Bobblett, Cole Bobblett, Hunter Bobblett, Caleb Bobblett, Solomon Bobblett, Emma Berry, Graham Berry and Reagan Bright; and an expectant great grandchild, Jacobi Bobblett.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Keith Creech officiating. Burial is in the High View Cemetery in Chaplin.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Bobblett, Chris Bobblett, Josh Bobblett, Adrienne Berry, Amanda Bright, Sammy Berry and Derrick Bright.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at the church.

Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
