LELAND BOWMAN CROWE

Leland Bowman Crowe, 86, of Bardstown, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, in Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. He was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Bardstown. He was the son of the late John Ed and Lucille Hines Crowe Sr.

He was a retired rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service with 38 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Knights of Peter Claver, and a member of the St. Monica Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Eugenia Shields; and one brother, John Ed “Junie” Crowe Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Marlee Johnson Crowe; one daughter, Marland (Bryan) Cole of Louisville; and one granddaughter, Mia Cole of Louisville.

His Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at St. Monica Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Clark as celebrant. Burial is in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
