Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, 10 p.m. — Nelson Circuit Court Judge John David “Jack” Seay denied Friday a request to reduce the bail of a man indicted last month for allegedly stalking an employee of a local fast food restaurant.
Johnny Dean Johnson was arrested Aug. 7 after a McDonald’s restaurant employee complained Johnson had been repeatedly trying to follow her home. She told police Johnson also spent hours at the restaurant when she was working and followed her outside during her breaks.
Johnson was indicted Aug. 20 and charged with first-degree stalking and being a persistent felony offender in the first-degree. His bail was set at $50,000 cash at his Sept. 5 arraignment.
Seay denied the motion to lower Johnson’s bail, citing that the court believed Johnson was a danger to himself or others.
