Obituary: Leo Joseph D. Wimsatt, 78, Lebanon Junction

Leo Joseph D. Wimsatt, 78, of Lebanon Junction, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at University Hospital in Louisville. He was a native of Washington County and an electrician for LG&E. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in fun_angelShepherdsville and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Mary Agatha Wimsatt; three sisters, Mary Alice Wimsatt, Mary Evelyn Wimsatt and Nora Corbett; seven brothers, Tony Wimsatt, Leonard Wimsatt, Herman Wimsatt, Ervin Wimsatt, Earl Wimsatt, Herbert Wimsatt and Everett Wimsatt; two grandchildren, Randal Keith Wimsatt and Trevor Hood.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Catherine Kidwell Wimsatt; two daughters, Donnajane Tipton (Kenny) and Marlene Hardin (Rodney); five sons, Larry Wimsatt (Betty Ann), Randy Wimsatt (Laura), Ed Wimsatt (Debbie), Jim Wimsatt (Marie) and Ron Wimsatt (Sharon); one sister, Marcella Critchalow (Roland); two brothers, Howard Wimsatt and Louis Wimsatt (Martha); 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at St. Benedict Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Little Brick Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at the Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction.

The Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction is in charge of arrangements.
