Tri-County United Way Spirit 5k attracts 200 participants

Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, 5:22 p.m. — The crowd held steady this year of around 200 runners and walkers as the 2014 Tri-County United-Way-LogoKentucky Spirit 5K was run on Saturday,, Sept. 20 in Bardstown.

First place winner in the men’s division was Raffo Wimsett, Jr. of Bardstown with a time of 18:44; second place was Don Engle of San Francisco and third place went to Mashashi Shimonao of Springfield.

In the womens division, Pam Bjerrum of Lincoln, Neb. finished first with a time of 25:44; second place went to Sally Wallace of Cincinnati and third place to Heather Hawker of San Francisco. United Way Board member Dooley Mattingly finished in the top 10 with a time of 24:24.

The 2014 Spirit Trophy for the most spirited team at the event was won by FET Inc in Bardstown with Orbis, Inc. a close runnerup.
