Two injured in head-on crash Tuesday on Parkway Drive

Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, 10:30 a.m. — Two women were injured Tuesday morning in a head-on collision on the Springfield Road end of Parkway Drive. Bardstown Police, Nelson County EMS and the Bardstown Fire Department were dispatched at 7:45 a.m. to the crash involving a Ford F-150 crew cab pickup and a passenger car. Both vehicles were reported overturned and one person was trapped inside a vehicle.

Firefighters removed the windshield of one of the vehicles to help one person from the vehicle. A 17-year-old girl and a 28-year-old woman were transported from the scene by EMS to Flaget Memorial Hospital. Parkway Drive was closed for a short time.
