Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, 7:30 p.m. — A Bardstown man was cited for leaving the scene of an accident after his 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer was hit by a 2001 Buick Park Avenue near the intersection of Flamingo Drive and North Third Street.
According to a police department press release, police were called to a non-injury accident on North Third Street at 7:58 a.m. When Officer Dalton Pinkston arrived, the only vehicle at the scene was the Buick, which suffered severe damage.
The Buick was driven by a 17-year-old girl who told police she pulled in front of a silver SUV which hit her vehicle. After the impact, the SUV turned and fled the scene. No one was injured in the crash.
Police located the damaged SUV — the 2006 Chevy Trail Blazer — parked at 108 Balsam Ave. Officers located the driver, Joshua E. Johnson, 34, who told them he fled the scene because of his registration. He was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
