Obituary: Mary Margaret Spalding, 91, Bardstown
MARY MARGARET SPALDING
Mary Margaret Spalding, 91, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Oct. 05, 2014, at Life Care Center of Bardstown. She was born Nov. 15, 1922, in Samuels to the late Roby and Victoria Thurman Mattingly. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George A. Spalding; one sister, Geneva Durbin; brothers, Joe Mattingly, Donnie Mattingly, Robert Mattingly and James Mattingly.
She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Lois Stone and Helen T. Lyvers, both of Bardstown; four sons, Robert A. Spalding, Joseph William Spalding, Danny Wayne Spalding and Ricky Spalding, all of Bardstown; three sisters, Juanita Durbin of Bardstown, Linda Heath of Boston and Betty Heath of Russell Springs; one brother, Houston Mattingly of Samuels; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, with prayers Tuesday evening at the at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home.
The Houghlin-Greenewell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
