Obituary: Charles Adrian ‘Acy’ Werner, 70, Bardstown

CHARLES ADRIAN ‘ACY’ WERNER

Charles Adrian “Acy” Werner, 70, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at his home. He was born Aug. 14, 1944, in Bardstown to the late Robert and Bereniece Mouser Werner. He was retired from the former Owens-Illinois Company and worked for many years for the Haydon family at the former Keene’s Depot, and more recently the Kentucky Gun Company. He was a member of St. Joseph Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Marty Werner;
one sister, Jean Bryan; one half-sister, Viola Baird; two brothers, James Robert Werner and Patrick Werner; and a half-brother, Paul Werner.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Berry Werner; one daughter, Kim (Danny) McCann of Bardstown; one sister, Mary Isabelle Blair of Bardstown; one brother, Joseph Gerald Werner of Bardstown; and three grandsons, Gavin Hicks, Carson Hicks and Conner Hicks.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. David Cockson officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, and 8:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
