Obituary: Edna Marie Guthrie, 94, Lebanon

Edna Marie Guthrie, 94, of Lebanon, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at her home. She was born on Sept. 19, 1920. She was a retired employee of Jane and Linda Sportswear.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clinton “J.C.” Guthrie (1995); her parents, Hobert Marshall and Nan Bell Gabehart Chelf; two sisters, Lula Mullins and Dorothy Evans; two sons, Kenneth Guthrie and Eugene Guthrie; one brother, Hobert Chelf, Jr; and one granddaughter, Gina Guthrie.

Survivors include two daughters, Sue Smothers of Lebanon and Linda (Frank) Alvey of Louisville; one son, Joseph (Eleanor) Guthrie of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Margaret Phelps of Holt, Mich.; one brother, James Chelf of Lebanon; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon with Bro. Joseph Guthrie officiating. Burial is in the Old Liberty Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at the funeral home.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
