Bardstown woman dies in two-vehicle crash at US150, Poplar Flat

Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, 7 p.m. — A Bardstown woman died Saturday as a result of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Springfield Road and Poplar Flat. Nelson County EMS and police were dispatched at 11:41 a.m. The Bardstown Fire Department was called out shortly thereafter due to the victim being trapped in the vehicle. EMS transported the victim to Flaget Memorial Hospital where she later died of her injuries.

While traffic was slowing for the injury accident, a second two-vehicle accident took place and was reported by firefighters responding to the injury accident. The accident happened in the 3800 block of Springfield Road. No one was injured in the crash.

Springfield Road was shut down to traffic while police worked both accidents. The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Bardsdtown Police officers.
