13-year-old taken to hospital after ingesting unknown herbal drug

Friday, April 22, 2011, 10:15 a.m. — A 13-year-old male Bardstown City Schools student was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital about 10 a.m. Friday after he ingested an unknown type of herbal drug. Nelson County EMS was called to Bardstown Elementary School, 420 North Fifth St., where they were to pick up the student at the school nurse’s office. The boy was complaining of nausea. Bardstown Police were also called to investigate possible contraband at the school.
