CATHEARINE JOAN THARP

Catherine Joan Tharp, 82, of St. Francis, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at her home. She was born Jan. 25, 1932 in Marion County. She was a retired employee of Citizens National Bank in Lebanon where she worked for more than 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Tharp (July 1, 2014); her parents, Phillip Owen and Josephine Caldwell Mudd; two sisters, Pauline Abell and Patsy VonNostitz; and two brothers, Bernard and Bobby Mudd.

Survivors include five daughters, Nancy Blanford (Jimmy), Donna Nalley (Joe) and Lisa Culver (Marvin), all of Loretto, Carol Reynolds (Larry) of Lebanon and Michelle Gribbins (Roger) of Bardstown; four sisters, Geneva Blair, Connie Pendygraft (Ralph), Juanita Spalding (Emmett) and Carolyn Smith, all of Louisville; four brothers, Phillip Owen Mudd, Jr. of Louisville, Fred Mudd (Sharon), Mike Mudd (Sandy) and Gene Mudd (Mary Ann), all of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, St. Francis, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. George S. Illikkal will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Eric Nalley, Patrick Blanford, Chad Abell, Brandon Blanford, Joshua Culver, Jordan Culver and Jude Gribbins.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
