Obituary: Kathleen Price ‘Katie’ Edelen, 85, Bardstown
Kathleen Price “Katie” Edelen, 85, of Bardstown, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Sunrise Manor in Hodgenville. She was born June 3, 1929, to the late Lindsay and Lila Burba Price. She was a former employee of the former Spalding and Sons for 40 
years, a former member of Nelson County Homemakers and a member of St. Joseph Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edelen; one sister, Melvina Mattingly; one brother, J. B. Price; and one grandson Rod Roby.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Long of Louisville and Paula (Russell) Strange of Elizabethtown; one son, George (Karen) Edelen of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren, Blake Roby, Kimberly Strange, Jennifer Strange, Emily Strange and Lindsay Edelen; and six great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. C. Joseph Batcheldor is the celebrant.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, and after 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations go to Bethlehem High School.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
