Obituary: Earl Joseph Schneider, 92

EARL JOSEPH SCHNEIDER

Earl Joseph Schneider, 92, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014. He was the son of the late Louis and Barbara Schneider. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in the 30th Infantry Division. He retired from commercial lithography and worked for Fawcett Printing. He was a parishioner at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, a member of the VFW Okolona Post 8639, and of St. Joseph Children’s Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Bernadine Tomkins, Margaret Schneider and Elvira Schneider; and two brothers, Clarence Schneider and Bert Schneider.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth Niehoff; nine daughters, Pat Wheeler (Larry), Jeanne Speer, Barbara Hagan (Jim), Mary Ecken (Ron), Kathy Sundell (David), Martha Fowler (Kenny), Rita Byrd (Tom), Debbie Fowler (Larry) and Angie Sauer (Rob); three sons, Bob Schneider (Patty), David Schneider (Janet) and Kenny Schneider (Sheila); 22 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy with burial in St. Michaels Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at the Arch L Heady Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Hwy, Louisville.

Memorial donations can be made to the St. Rita’s Church or the St. Joseph’s Children Home.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven are entrusted with the arrangements.
