Obituary: Sr. Eloise Jarvis, 91, Nerinx

Sr. Eloise Jarvis, 91, of Nerinx, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary. She was born Nov. 3, 1922, in Harrisburg, Ill. to the late Dr. Henry Jarvis and Mary Wheatley. She entered religious life in 1943 and received her final vows in 1950. She was the former Dean of Music at Webster College in Webster Groves, Mo. Locally she taught music at Loretto High School in Louisville in 1951. She retired to the Loretto Motherhouse in 2011.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at the Loretto Motherhouse Church, 515 Nerinx Road, Nerinx. Burial is in the Motherhouse Cemetery.

Wake services are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at the Loretto Motherhouse.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
