Obituary: Lawrence David ‘Larry’ Mudd, 51, Springfield
Lawrence David “Larry” Mudd, 51, of Rosewood Drive, Springfield, died at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 24, 2014 at his home after an illness. He was born in Lebanon on May 28, 1963, to the late Joseph Sidney and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Rudd Mudd. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, a 1982 graduate of Washington County High School and an employee of Homestead Farms.
Preceding him in death were twin granddaughters, Alissa Marie and Aliyah Jane Smith on October 23, 2011.
Survivors include his companion, Leslie Langford; two daughters, Anne Farrell Nicely (Shane) of Lexington and Ashley Smith (Lee) of Lebanon; one son, Christopher McDonald (Savannah) of Springfield; two sisters, Melanie Smith (Ed) and Margaret Taylor (Jimmy) of Springfield; three brothers, Jerry Mudd of Bardstown, Joey Mudd (Jeanne) and Parker Mudd (Elizabeth), both of Versailles; four grandchildren, Addison Farrell Nicely, Devon Smith, Lauren Smith and Cayden Smith; and an expectant grandchild.
The funeral is 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Hardesty officiating with the Rev. Rebecca Hatton and the Rev. Troy Shelton assisting. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at Carey & Son Funeral Home, 216 East Main St. in Springfield with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Dale Spalding, Joey McDonald, Steven Graves, Chris Fogt, Jeremy Smith, Joseph Steven Clark, Michael McCain, George McCain, Terrance McCain, Robert Greenwell, Steven Seger and Jack Abell.
Pallbearers are John Michael Medley, Eddie Mudd, Phillip Carrico, Timmy Cambron, Jimmy Cambron and Travis Smith.
Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
