Letter: Tim Hutchins is the judge executive candidate with ‘vision of hope’
To the editor
When I was a young man back in the late 70’s and early 80’s I decided to join the U.S. Navy. At that time I did not understand politics. From what a Republican was from a Democrat. I guess it was just a case of young, dumb and stupid.
I did know one thing. The country was spiraling out of control with a lot of issues that were making America the country I was serving weak overseas and at home with a dim future. The leader at that time was a good man with strong moral values, but weak at everything else. No Vision. No Plan or hope for my our future. That is when a man name Ronald Reagan came out and talked about a Vision for America. That bright and shining city on the hill. That beacon of hope for all mankind.
No matter what party you belong too. The same message that John F. Kennedy had. A bright future for a country that needed it at that time. I truly believe Nelson County and it’s people are at that stage. One that is without a leader with a Plan or Vision for the future.
I also believe that we have a man that is running for County Judge/Executive that has that same zeal that both of the men I talked about had for us. Do not get me wrong, he is neither man. But he is a man with a Vision of hope. A plan to restore promise to the people of Nelson County. A man that has successfully ran businesses the right way. Who voted for the people while a member of Fiscal Court.
That man is Tim Hutchings. I have read where some say he is no conservative. I believe if he was not what some call a conservative, then he would have never been elected in the first place. Tim Hutchins is a hard working man who is no different than the rest of us. He has stayed positive in this race, wishing his opponents the best of luck.
Some think that being negative is the way to win. Well I think we lose as a society when we are not positive.
I am proud to have served this country in the Navy. I will be even prouder in voting for Tim Hutchins as our county Judge/Executive.
Respectfully,
Richard Hardin
