Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 — The Bardstown City Council gave final approval Tuesday night of a zoning amendment for a former daycare business location at 1315 North Third St. The amended zoning will allow the new tenant to have a flowers and gift shop called Stargazers at the location of North Third and Downs Lane.

GOING ELECTRONIC. City Clerk Barbie Bryant gave the council members their first look at an electronic document system that the city will implement with the new council. Documents the council receive will no longer be paper copies on paper, they will be distributed electronically via Sharepoint, a Microsoft document sharing service.

The council members and city attorney will each be provided with a city-purchased iPad with mobile cellular internet access.

CHRISTMAS PARADE. The council also approved the route for annual Christmas parade on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014. The parade is sponsored by Town & Country Bank and the Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce.

The route is the same as in past years, with floats lining up on Broadway at Fifth Street by the fire department. The rain date for the parade is Friday, Dec. 5.
