Letter: Negative and false comments won’t get in candidate’s way

To the editor,

On Wednesday, Oct. 29th, the Nelson County Gazette published a negative letter written questioning me and my vision for the letter-to-the-editorfuture of Nelson County. When I entered this race for Nelson County Judge Executive, I promised a vision of hope and positive change. With this promise, both myself and my team have been polite to other candidates, not because of politics, but because it is the right thing to do.

Me and my team recognize and appreciate other opinions and beliefs. However, I do not condone outward rudeness to my team in public areas. I am running as an independent because I recognize that there is good in both the Republican and the Democratic parties. As your next Nelson County Judge Executive, it is my vision to bring the “good” in both parties together to make positive, successful changes, regardless of social media rants and whining, conspiracy theories, and/or back-door manipulations.

I have explained my plan and vision for Nelson County in the open debates and by answering your questions. My vision is for a more efficient county government that will improve the quality of life with aggressive economic development changes. The choice for this position is for the constituents of Nelson County to decide. Whatever that choice is, I will respect the decision that is made on election day. Some may attack my vision and me personally, but I will not allow negative and false comments to get in the way of a better, more efficient Nelson County community.
