CORNELIA ‘NEIL’ FRAZIER NEWMAN

Cornelia “Neil” Frazier Newman, 87, of Boston, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Letcher County. She was the retired postmaster for the Boston post office and a member of the Boston Community Center, Eastern Star, National Association of Postmasters of the United States, National Active and the Retired Federal Employees Association. She was a member of the Dennie Memorial United Methodist Church in Lebanon Junction and attended Bardstown United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben F. Newman Jr.; her parents, Burnett and Cornelia Frazier; one sister, Mattie Lee Reed; and six brothers, Gurney Frazier, Kermit Frazier, Cormal Frazier, Verlon Frazier, Tandy Frazier, and Burnett Frazier Jr.

She is survived by one daughter, Connie Jo (Ron) Brown of Bardstown; one grandson, Stephen Eric Barnes of Bardstown; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at the Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Scott C. Stith, Matthew Wright, and Terry Troutman will officiate.

Visitation is 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, and 9-11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to Boston Community Center.

The Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
