Letter: Candidate for judge has been spreading ‘venom of hatred’

To the editor,

Each day I like to get on your site and see what is happening around the Nelson County area. For the past several days I have letter-to-the-editornoticed as with reading The Kentucky Standard, that one of the gentlemen running for County Judge has brought his venom of hatred to your fine website.

I can not for the life of me understand how anyone can be so negative. We live in a world today where so much hate toward each other is widespread. You would think that someone who is running for office or his supporters would say something nice. Instead it seems to me they are always making accusations against someone or something, like they cannot find something or anything good to say about their fellow man.

Pete Trzop calls himself a Christian. I do not think Christ ever went around complaining about everything. Mostly his trip to the cross. He also calls himself a veteran. I look at a veteran as someone who is proud of his country no matter the circumstances. Go to the VA hospital and you will see true heroes of war.

The reason I feel most people stay at home and not vote is because of all the hate that is in our political system. Maybe for a few days, Mr. Trzop will say something pleasant for once and not go around making false claims or complaints about someone or something. If not then maybe after the election we will go back to normal and not see the daily hate mail from Trzop or one of his supporters.
