Obituary: Jeanette ‘Jenny’ Hagan, 75, Cox’s Creek
Jeanette “Jenny” Hagan, 75, of Cox’s Creek, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at Kindred at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born Aug. 11, 1939, in Lavinia, Tenn. She graduated high school in Karachi, Pakistan, two years of college in Beirut, Lebanon, and graduated from University of Tennessee with a B.S. degree in 1961. She was a member of community bible study at Parkway Baptist Church, the beautification committee at St. Gregory Catholic Church, and St. Gregory Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Milton and Erlene Gowan Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert “Bob” M. Hagan of Cox’s Creek; three daughters, Teresa H. (Brian) Vanderburg of Seattle, Wash., Anita Marie Hagan of Edgewater, Md., and Melinda Hagan of Old Town, Fla.; and two granddaughters, Kari Frances Vanderburg and Lydia Mae Vanderburg.
The Funeral Mass was 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Griner was celebrant, and the Rev. Joseph Batcheldor and Deacon Joe Livers were concelebrants.
Pallbearers were Brian Taylor, George Crume, Joe Wolf, Frederick Hagan II, Brian Vanderburg, and Doug Gibson.
Memorial contributions may go to American Cancer Society or The Humane Society of Nelson County.
Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
