Letter: Floyd has served 50th District well as state representative

To my friends and constituents in Nelson County,

I am writing to endorse State Representative David Floyd . Since he became your state representative in 2004, I have come to know David and Cheri, and we have become close friends working as a team for Nelson County in the Kentucky General letter-to-the-editorAssembly.

I can tell you first-hand about David’s strong faith in God, and his love of family and country. David is one of the most accessible legislators in the General Assembly. His Coffee with Dave meetings give you great access to your state representative; he is a great listener, truly interested in his constituents.

This military veteran is pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, a dedicated public servant, and a seasoned statesman. He works across party lines to get legislation passed that is important to you. A perfect example is this year’s issue with Bluegrass Pipeline – David led the successful fight for private property rights for Nelson County residents.

David has been very active in making sure Nelson County gets its fair share of transportation funds. The list of projects Representative Floyd worked to bring back to Nelson County is very long: projects like Highway 31 and Highway 245, currently under construction.

David worked with the Governor’s office and local elected officials to get money for Nat Rogers Road and Hwy 247. He works for incentives to create new jobs and support for our bourbon industry. He spends countless hours each week on constituent services, helping citizens cut through government red tape.

Representative David Floyd has worked tirelessly to make Nelson County a better place to live, work and raise children. I ask you to please vote for Representative David Floyd on Nov 4. Thank you for your consideration and your vote. May God bless each of you.

Jimmy Higdon
14th District State Senator
