Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, 2:30 p.m.– Judge executive candidate Tim Hutchins defended the polling data his campaign released last tim_hutchins_1031adweek and published Friday in a campaign ad in the local newspaper.

In a press release released Monday targeting Nelson County voters, Hutchins noted “It is not unusual for any candidate that is behind to challenge the {poll} numbers. The fact is you are the numbers. You the good people have endorsed our vision and positive plan.”

The press release called on voters to get on Hutchins’ “winning team.”

The poll and its numbers remains disputed by both of Hutchins’ opponents and their supporters. Incumbent Democrat Dean Watts is airing a radio spot citing the fact the polling organization is unknown and called Hutchins’ poll “untrue and untrustworthy.”

Republican Pete Trzop’s supporters took to social media to blast Hutchins’ poll, with Trzop posting on his own page that he “got a great laugh with the new fantasy polls and attacks on my military service. Thanks for all the calls and emails of support. Please, I have not laughed that hard in a long time.”

The Nelson County Gazette reported the poll numbers released Friday by Hutchins’ campaign manager Richard Hardin. The local newspaper published the poll figures in Hutchins’ campaign ad, but did not report on the poll in the news section of the newspaper.
