Obituary: Austin Thomas Green, 49, Holy Cross
Austin Thomas Green, 49, of Holy Cross, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at his home. He was born March 28, 1965, in Marion County. He was a farmer and employee of Tower Automotive in Bardstown and a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Dixie Green; his parents, Tommy and Ginger Ford Green of Holy Cross; one daughter, Jessica Clark (Russ) of New Haven; one son, Mark Cecil (Tracey) of Boston; six sisters, Vivian Fetner (Harold) of Decator, Ala., Betty Smith (Tim) of Mesquite, Nev., Sara Durbin (Tim) of New Haven, Amy Walls (G.B.) of Bardstown, Rachael Green of Holy Cross and Ann Green of Nashville, Tenn.; four brothers, Steve Green (Karen) and Emmett Green (Rene), both of Holy Cross, Travis Green of Cincinnati and Noel Green of Lancaster; and four grandchildren, Annika Cecil, Trisden Cecil, Jax Cecil and Cody Clark.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3560 N. Saint Francis Road, Loretto with the Rev. Bill Bowling officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Pallbearers are his brothers and Chris Fetner, Jacob Green, Jared Green and Robbie Edelen.
Honorary Pallbearers are his nephews, Cody Green, Dominic Green, Kyle Raley, Dylan Raley, Lucas Raley, Ryan Durbin and Weston Green.
The Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
