Police arrest Louisville man in connection with local counterfeit $50 bills

Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, 1:45 p.m. — The suspect involved in passing counterfeit $50 bills locally was located and arrested today at Arrested_3337DB0Aa Louisville hotel.

Jad Gabriel, Faris, 33, of Louisville, was arrested by Bardstown and Louisville Metro police detectives and lodged in the Jefferson County Jail. He is charged with six counts of first-degree possession of a forged instrument and six counts of theft by unlawful taking.

The arrest was made possible as a result of tips received and surveillance video. Bardstown Police Department detectives Chris Smith and Lynn Davis worked with detectives from the Louisville Metro Police Department to make the arrest.
