Obituary: William Patrick ‘Pat’ Mattingly, 61, Elizabethtown
William Patrick “Pat” Mattingly, 61, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at his home. He was born and raised in New Haven by the late John David Mattingly Sr. and Amie Elizabeth Wimsett Mattingly. He was a Catholic by faith, a former employee of Gates Corporation and a current employee of Akebono Corporation in Elizabethtown as a maintenance technician. He was a Kentucky Colonel and an avid UK fan.
Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Marsha Kay Ramsey Mattingly; one daughter, Julie Jo Epperson (Jamie) of Falmouth; one son, Jeremy Ray Linder of Elizabethtown;
five sisters, Joanie Dewitt (Ricky) and Susan Penna, both of New Haven, Joyce Ann Goatley (Jim) of Bardstown, Rose Carolyn Spink (Bob) of Elizabethtown and Mary Lou Adams (George) of Louisville; three brothers, Joe Larry Mattingly (Lois) and John David Mattngly Jr. (Joyce), both of New Haven and Michael Mattingly (Leah), of New Hope; four grandchildren, Jordan Shartzer, Patrick Shartzer, Ashley Linder and Whitley Linder; one great-grandchild, Talon Shartzer; and many nieces, nephews, cousins.
The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at the St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, and 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, with a prayer service Thursday at 6 pm at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.
