Obituary: Francis Earl Blanford, Jr., 52, Holy Cross
Francis Earl Blanford, Jr., 52, of Holy Cross, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at his home. He was a native of Holy Cross and was born May 7, 1962. He formerly worked as a supervisor with BCD Construction in Bardstown and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an avid hunter and craftsman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Earl “Frankie” Blanford, Sr. (2003)
Survivors include his wife, Robin Bartley Blanford; his mother, LaVern Wortham Blanford of Holy Cross; one daughter, Rene Blanford Boblett of Mount Sterling; two sons, Aaron Blanford of Loretto and C. J. Baker of Bardstown; two sisters, Cindy Hobbs (Mike) of New Haven and Denise Hagan (Louis) of Holy Cross; two brothers, Greg Blanford of Holy Cross and Chuck Blanford of New Haven; two grandchildren, Bryce Boblett and Raegan Boblett; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3560 N. Saint Francis Road, Loretto. Burial is in the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a 7 p.m. prayer service with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Pallbearers are Aaron Blanford, C.J. Baker, Mike Hobbs, Louis Hagan, Greg BlanfordĀ and Chuck Blanford; Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Hagan, Nathan Watkins, Devin Watkins, Dillon Norman, Blake Blanford and Isaac Hagan.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
