Letter: Magistrate expresses appreciation to 4th District voters

To the editor,

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the voters of Nelson County’s 4th District. Throughout the campaign season you have endured knocks on your door, countless phone calls and hundreds of campaign signs, yet many took the time to watch debates, listen to radio interviews and read about the candidates. Informed voters are good for government.

A special thanks to my wife Beth, my family and all those who volunteered their time on my behalf. I would not have been re-elected without them.

I’d also like to thank David Shields for both his positive campaign and his congratulations after the election. If nothing else, we have proven that you do not have to vilify your opponent to have a competitive race and I am thankful that we are still friends.

Your vote is truly an honor and I’ll do my best to represent the 4th district and Nelson County. Call me if I can help.
