Obituary: Robert M. ‘Bob’ Cox, 89, Taylorsville
Robert M. “Bob” Cox, 89, of Taylorsville, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at Signature Healthcare of Spencer County. He was born in Anderson County, the son of the late Albert and Lola Pearl Dennis Cox. He was a member of the Plum Creek Baptist Church at Waterford. He was a farmer for many years, and owner and operator of Cox’s Water Service for more than 43 years. Fishing and woodworking were his favorite hobbies and pastimes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond “Jack” Cox and Thomas R. “Tommy” Cox.
Survivors include his wife of more than 63 years, Vivian Aubrey Cox of Taylorsville; one son, Kevin “Mike” Cox (Sheila) of Bloomfield; one sister, Jean Hall of Mount Washington; two brothers, James Cox of Wilsonville and Charles Cox of Campbellsville; four grandchildren, Bobby, Brandon, Channing and Nikki; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville with the Rev. Joe Vires officiating. Burial is in Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at the funeral home.
