ELIZABETH CECELIA ‘SIS’ DEWITT

Elizabeth Cecelia “Sis” Dewitt, 86, of New Haven, died Nov. 16, 2014, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville after a long illness.

She was born Nov. 1, 1928. She was Catholic by faith and a lifelong member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. She enjoyed playing bingo and bowling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Abbie Marcellus and Annie Euphrasia Nalley Dewitt; three sisters, Mary Teresa Reed, Annie Abbigail Dewitt and Ada Catherine Morris; five brothers, Fredrick Eugene Dewitt, Andrew Jackson Dewitt, Rev. Robert Dewitt, Thomas Edward Dewitt and Rudolph Dewitt; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mnass is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church with the Rev. Ken Fortener officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.
