Nelson Circuit Court Indictments-Nov. 19, 2014

indictmentWednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 – The following people were indicted by a Nelson County grand jury on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014. They are scheduled for arraignment Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, unless otherwise indicated.

14-CR-290. John O. Shelton, 42, Bardstown, theft by deception, $500 or more.

According to the indictment, between July 21-29, 2014, Shelton allegedly passed 18 checks totalling $722.89 at Kentucky Home Bank knowing they would not be honored. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.

14-CR-291. Timothy W. Bellendier II, 24, Bardstown, promoting contraband, second-degree; persistent felony offender, first-degree.

According to the indictment, on Nov. 8, 2014, Bellendier allegedly introduced tobacco, a cell phone, knives and various pills into the Nelson County Jail. The indictment cites Bellendier’s prior felony convictions as the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.

14-CR-292. Jeffrey R. Lugenbeal, 29, Bardstown, possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (542 counts).

According to the indictment, between June 20-Dec. 18, 2013, Lungenbeal alleged possessed matter visually depicted an actual sexual performance by a minor. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.

14-CR-293. Dustin M. Thompson, 21, New Hope, assault, first-degree.

According to the indictment, between July 25-26, 2014, Thompson allegedly stabbed another person with a pocket knife. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.

14-CR-294. Martin A Coolican, 45, Jupiter, Fla., theft by unlawful taking or disposition, all others, $10,000 or more but less than $1 million.

According to the indictment, sometime between Feb. 24-Sept. 23, 2014, Coolican allegedly took more than $1,200 in cash and $11,000 in merchandise from Aaron’s Rental in Bardstown, Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.

14-CR-295. Jospeh S. Gilkey, 50, Bardstown, possession of a forged instrument, second-degree (2 counts); theft by unlawful taking under $500 (2 counts).

According to the indictment, on Oct. 21, 2014, Gilkey allegedly possessed checks belonging to another person passed the forged checks in the amounts of $60 and $40 to Five Star knowing they were forged. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

14-CR-296. Kody A. Claycomb, 22, Elizabethtown, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, auto, over $500 but less than $10,000; theft or receipt of a stolen debit or credit card (2 counts); persistent felony offender, first-degree.

According to the indictment, on Sept. 10, 2014, Claycomb allegedly took a 1996 Toyota Corolla, with a value of $500 or more but less than $10,000, belonging to another person. The indictment further alleged Claycomb also took two debit or credit cards belonging to other people. The indictment cites Claycomb’s prior felony convictions as the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.

14-CR-297. James Darrell Dragoo, 41, Bardstown, cultivating marijuana, five plants or more; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana; persistent felony offender, first-degree.

According to the indictment, on Sept. 26, 2014, Dragoo was cultivating five or more marijuana plants and in possession of a .22 Walther handgun, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The indictment cites Dragoo’s prior felony convictions as basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.

14-CR-298. James P. Armstrong, 31, Toledo, Ohio, flagrant non-support; persistent felony offender, second-degree.

According to the indictment, between Oct. 1, 2011 and Oct. 31, 2014, Armstrong allegedly failed to pay support he was ordered to pay, resulting in an arrearage of $8,033.44. The indictment cited Armstrongs prior felony conviction as the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
