Mayor Bill Sheckles presents a proclamation naming Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 as Native American Appreciation Day.

Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, 9:30 p.m. — The Bardstown City Council gave it unanimous approval for a rezoning request for a new Mexican restaurant on a 1.5 acre tract next to Lincoln National Bank on Lincoln Way.

The zoning change — from B-3 to B-3 Planned Unit Development — will allow the restaurant to sell liquor by the drink. The restaurant will have both indoor and outdoor dining areas.

CABLE CONSTRUCTION. The council approved a revised change order for some additional work by Team Fishel on the city’s fiber-optic construction projects.

At the council’s Nov. 11 meeting, city engineer Jeff Mills asked the council to consider extending Fishel’s fiber construction contact to include some additional projects. City Attorney Bruce Reynolds did not feel comfortable with extending the contract for work totaling more than $25,000 due to the requirement to seek bids on projects of that size and larger.

The revised change order will allow Fishel to complete fiber construction on Hutchins Lane off Loretto Road and King Road off Whitesides Road for a total cost of $16,269
