Five people injured in multi-vehicle crash on US31E north of High Grove

Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, 7 p.m. — Five people were injured — two reported with severe injuries and one critically injured– in a three-vehicle crash on Louisville Road north of High Grove just across the Spencer County line.
At about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nelson County EMS, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office and the Bardstown Fire Department were dispatched to a possible multi-vehicle injury accident on Louisville Road near High Grove. Police and fire units arrived to find one vehicle overturned and another on its side blocking the entire roadway. Firefighters assisted EMS personnel with the injured and checked for hazardous fluids leaking from damaged vehicles. The most critically injured crash victim was transported by Nelson County EMS directly to University Hospital in Louisville for treatment. EMS also transported a father and son to Louisville hospitals, and Bullitt County EMS transported two additional victims to a Louisville hospital.
Louisville Road was closed for more than an hour while accident was cleaned up.
