Obituary: Ruby Faulkner O’Bryan, 86, Elizabethtown
Ruby Faulkner O’Bryan, 86, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at her home. She was born Aug. 25, 1928, in Springfield. She taught school at New Hope, Culvertown, Boston, Bloomfield, Bardstown and Elizabethtown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Arthur and Mary Nellie Green Faulkner; one brother, Theodore Faulkner; and two grandchildren, Zeb O’Bryan and Michael Peck.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Charles Aloysius O’Bryan; two daughters, Marietta O’Bryan of Louisville and Lucy Greenwell of Bardstown; four sons, Charles A. O’Bryan, Jr. (Jo Kaye) of Orlando, Fla., Edward William O’Bryan of Bardstown, Joseph B. O’Bryan of Leitchfield and Paul B. O’Bryan of Louisville; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 104 Church Street, New Hope, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ken Fortener will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Jim Cecil.
Memorial donations may go to Masses or St. Vincent de Paul Church.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
