Firefighters called for odor investigation on North Aspen Street

Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, 9 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called dispatched Saturday evening to an apartment in the 200 block of North Aspen Street for an odor investigation. Firefighters were dispatched at 7:21 p.m. after 911 Dispatch was called by a resident who smelled a strong odor of something burning in a bedroom, possibly from an adjacent apartment. Firefighters confirmed a burning smell and discovered a fire smoldering in a clothes basket full of clothing. Firefighters removed the smoldering clothes and used their equipment to remove smoke from the apartment.
