Obituary: Anna Marie Rust Vittitow, 77, New Haven
Anna Marie Rust Vittitow, 77, of New Haven, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at her home in New Haven. She was born May 23, 1937, in New Haven. She was the daughter of the late James E. and Edna Seward Rust. She was a member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven where she loved working and helping plan the church picnics and fall festivals. She wanted to school to prosper and continue education children. She retired from Jim Beam Distilleries after 37 years of service. She, along with her husband Jack, owned Vittitow Cabinets and Vittitow Basement Walls.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Suzanne Isabelle “Sue” Rust Sorrells, Edna Rose Rust and Mary Cecilia Rust Robertson; four brothers, James E. “Elmo” Rust, Bernard A. “B.A.” Rust, Henry Lee Rust and Charles Louis Rust; and one grandson, Stephen Wayne Willett.
She is servived by her husband of 60 years, John A. “Jack” Vittitow of New Haven; two daughters, Janice (Larry) Wooldridge of Culvertown and Renee (Wayne) Head of Lawrenceburg; four sons, Mike (Diana) Vittitow of Culvertown, Phillip Vittitow of Icetown, Glen (Ann) Vittitow of Culvertown, and Terry (Dell) Vittitow of Bardstown; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 North Main St., New Haven. A prayer service is 6 p.m. Monday evening in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home.
