RITA MAE JOHSON

Rita Mae Johnston, 60, of Louisville, formerly of Marion County, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at Golden LivingCenter-Hillcreek in Louisville. She was born March 23, 1954, in Louisville. She formerly owned and operated the Smyrna Inn in Louisville. She was a former employee of Citizens National Bank in Lebanon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry L. and Laura Campbell Helm; six sisters, Evey Kelton, Frances Tarrance, Crissy Bell, Ruby Shelbourne, Carolyn Towsley and Betty Helm; one brother, Bobby G. Helm; and one infant son, Perry Franklin.

Survivors include her three sons, Phillip Franklin of Springfield, Paul Franklin (Christina) of Loretto, and Jason Franklin (Elizabeth) of Lebanon; one sister, Bernice Schweinhart (Harold) of Louisville; one brother, Stanley Helm of Louisville; seven grandchildren, P.J., Kelsey, Taylor, Brianne, Steven, Abbey and Jasmine; and her companion in life, Joe Thompson of Louisville.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with burial to follow in the Elk Horn Cemetery. Pastor Jim Burke will officiate.

Visitation is 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at the funeral home.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
