Search warrant leads to arrest of two on drug, theft-related charges

Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, 9 p.m. — Two Bardstown residents were arrested Tuesday on drug and stolen property charges following a police search of a home at 129 McGowan Ave.

The Bardstown Police Department, the Bardstown Flex team and KSP searched the home after a warrant was obtained. Officers seized a Beretta .25 caliber handgun, a laptop computer, electronics, marijuana packaged for sale, drug paraphernalia, digital scales and a small amount of cash. Police believe some of the items were stolen from vehicles and burglaries that have occurred in the area.

Quacy Sheckles, 20, and Dana Linton, 44, were both charged with receiving stolen property (firearm); possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sheckles was additionally charged with trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces). They were lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

A Bardstown Police department press release assured residents that the department is following up on leads and tips on theft and burglaries.
