Obituary: Frances Mae Chesser, 73, Bardstown

FRANCES MAE CHESSER

Frances Mae Chesser, 73, of Bardstown, died at 8:25 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville. She was a Shelby County native, born May 5, 1941, to the late Jimmie K. and Myrtle Hardin Chesser. She was a member of the Bloomfield Church Of God and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by one brother, William Bobby Chesser; and one grandson, Donald Andrew Burkhead.

Survivors include, two daughters, Connie Burkhead of Willisburg and Leasa Litsey of Springfield; six sons, James Frankie Chesser of Eminence, Kenny Burkhead (Sue) of Harrodsburg, Ricky Burkhead of Birmingham, Ala., Donald Burkhead (Dana) of Chaplin, David Burkhead of Bloomfield and Spencer Burkhead of Louisville; one brother, Herbert Ray Chesser; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield with the Rev. Ricky Cheatham, pastor of the Anchor Of Hope Church, officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Bloomfield.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Chesser, G.R. Lewis, Chris Lewis, Chris Burkhead, Wayne Burkhead and Austin Burkhead.

Visitation is 4-8 Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, and after 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at the funeral home.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
