SGT. GLENN EDWARD STRATTON III
Sgt. Glenn Edward Stratton III, 21, of New Haven, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, in an accident on the Bluegrass Parkway near Elizabethtown. He was born Sept. 26, 1993 in Williamson, W.Va. He was a sergeant in the Kentucky National Guard 2123 Transportation Co. based in Richmond. He was employed by Brown-Foreman Cooperage in Louisville after two years of service. He was a member of the Ovensen Heights Baptist Church in Hodgenville.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Glenn Edward Stratton I and Betty Lou Baisen; and his paternal great-grandmother, Irene Stratton.
Survivors include one son, Brayden Lee Stratton of Magnolia; his mother and stepfather, Crystal Lynn (John) Maynard Rust of New Haven; his father and stepmother, Glenn E. Stratton III (Ann) of Bardstown; four sisters, Carissa Stratton of Louisville, Mallory Riggs and Abby Riggs, both of New Haven, and Camilla Stratton of West Virginia; one brother, Connor Stratton of Bardstown; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at the Ovensen Heights Baptist Church in Hodgenville with the Rev. Mike Akridge officiating. Burial is in the St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church Cemetery in New Haven.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2014, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2014, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven.
