Obituary: Albert Daniel Purdy, 97, Lebanon

Albert Daniel Purdy, 97, of Lebanon, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2014. He was born Oct. 15, 1917, in Marion County. He was a wwIIveteranlogoU.S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired employee of Kentucky Bourbon Cooperage, and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harrison and Edna Black Purdy; and one brother, Allison Purdy.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie Ryan Purdy of Lebanon: one daughter, Linda (Richard) Gordon of Springfield; four sons, William Ross (Terri) Purdy of Charlotte, N.C., James David Purdy, Michael Daniel (Ida) Purdy, and Joseph Edward (Darlisa) Purdy, all of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at St. Augustine Catholic Church celebrated by the Rev. Bill Bowling. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
