Obituary: Carl Thomas Brady, 86, Springfield

Carl Thomas Brady, 86, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014. He was born April 13, 1928, in St. Joe. He was a retired supervisor for the Fort Howard cup company.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Mann Brady; his parents, Robert Hilman and Mabel Ann Buckman Brady; one sister, Juanita Medley; and seven brothers, Buford Brady, Walter Brady, Nolan Brady, Hilman Brady Jr, Garland Brady, Alton Brady and Leroy Brady.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Mattingly Brady of Springfield; five daughters, Cathy McManus of Augusta, Ga., Carla (John) Southerland of Atlanta, Lois (Eddie) Noel of Thompsonville, Peggy (Steve) Bagwell of Campbellsville and Tammy (Travis) Cocanougher of Springfield; two stepdaughters, Karen Coe of Jamestown and Sheryl (Garry) Brady of Calvary; three sons, Ricky Brady of Bardstown and Leroy (Betty) Brady, both of Bardstown and George (Dianne) Brady of South Carolina; two stepsons, Benny (Colleen “Cookie”) Brady of St. Joe and Larry (Liz) Brady of Finley; one sister, Barbara Jean Thompson of Raywick; 22 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon officiated by the Rev. Trumie Culpepper Elliott. Burial is in the St. Joe community cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions made to Hosparus of Central Kentucky.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
