Obituary: Richard N. Snellen, 75, Bardstown

Richard N. Snellen, 75, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1939, in Louisville. He retired from Bird Vinyl. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norris and Ethel Mae Snellen; and brother, Jackie Glen Snellen.

He is survived by his wife, Lula Summitt Snellen of Bardstown; one daughter, Donna Snellen (Tim) Haley of Shepherdsville; three sons, Eric (Debbie) Snellen and Jeff (Laurie) Snellen, both of Bardstown, and Richie (Glenda) Snellen of Lawrenceburg; one sister, Shirley Roby of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Ronnie Snellen and Larry Snellen, both of Bardstown; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

The memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Dr. Rick Loader will officiate.

Memorial contributions may go to the First Christian Church (D.O.C.) Building Fund.

Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown is in charge of arrangements.
